Folder preferences

This page controls how folders are handled. It is only available if you're using IMAP.

Special folders
Use these dropdowns to select which folders are designated as the special Sent mail, Drafts and Deleted mail folders. These folders will be automatically created if they don't exist (which creates the impression that they're not deletable), and will also be automatically subscribed to. When deleting mail, the mail will be moved to the folder designated as the delted items folder. If deleting mail from this special folder, it will be permanently deleted.

Show stats on folder management page
Whether to show stats for each of the folders listed on the folders page. These stats consist of read messages, unread messages and folder size. Totals for all folders are also generated. These stats can be time consuming to generate if you have many folders and/or you mail server has slow disks. If these stats are enabled, you will also get in the left folder frame the number of unread emails in parentheses after the folder name.

Automatically subscribe to new folders
When creating a new folder, if this option is enabled, the folder will automatically be subscribed to.

Use autohide for folder list frame
Whether to use autohide for the left folder listing frame. This means that when you move your mouse away from the frame, it will collapse/minimise down to the left hand side. This option is only available if you're using Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher.

Show folder list frame by default
If this option is enabled the left folder frame will be shown when you login. If not you will have to use the view icons on the navigation bar to see it.

Default width of folder list frame
This option determines what the width of the folder frame will be when it is shown.

Empty deleted mail folder on exit
If enabled this cause the folder designated as the "Deleted items" folder to be emptied when the "Logout" link is used. Simply closing the browser will not cause the folder to be emptied.

Remove items from deleted mail folder after ... days
At login, mail older than the specified number of days in the special "Deleted items" folder will be deleted. This feature can be disabled by setting this to zero.
