Mail account polling

This page is where you define external accounts to poll for mail. Mail can be downloaded into a folder of your choice. This option is only available if you're using IMAP.

Account name
Here you have a dropdown list of currently defined accounts, and options to delete and create new ones. You will have to click "New account" and give a name before being able to enter its details.

Username
The username for the account.

Password
The password for the account.

Mail server
The hostname (preferably) or IP address of the mail server.

Port
The port the mail server is listening on. The defaults are: 110 - POP3, 143 - IMAP, 995 - POP3/SSL, 995 - IMAP/SSL. This field is automatically updated when you select the account type.

Type
The type of account this is. When changing this field the port will automatically be updated. Also when an IMAP type is chosen the folder field underneath will become available.

Folder
This defines what folder to poll on the remote account. This is only available for IMAP accounts. Typically only the INBOX is usually polled.

Leave mail on server
If enabled, mail will be left on the server after downloaded. If not enabled, mail will be deleted after it has been downloaded.

Deliver to...
This specifies the folder that the mail will downloaded to.

This page only defines the accounts. To actually poll the accounts you will need to return to the mailbox listing and click the Poll mail accounts link underneath the order by dropdown.
