This page can be used to update and manage various blacklists which block incoming email based on Sender (From:) address, Subject, Recipient address or Body text. Messages which match one or more of the criteria set here are marked as read, and moved to the deleted folder (if the deleted folder is set to the INBOX, the messages will be permanently deleted).
To add a blacklist entry, you simply need to add in the text or address you wish to be blocked into the appropriate text box. The entries should be one per line, each being treated separately.
Sender address
Entries in this blacklist correspond to the "From:" addresses of incoming mail.
They can either be full or partial email addresses, or text to match in the
"personal" part of the email address.
Recipient address
Entries in this blacklist correspond to the "To:" addresses of incoming mail.
Again they can be full or partial email addresses, or text to match in the
"personal" part of the email address. This blacklist can be particularly
useful in blocking certain common spam emails.
Body text
Entries in this blacklist correspond to the bodies of incoming mail. Remember
that only one line entries are permitted.
Subject header
Entries in this blacklist correspond to the subjects of incoming mail. They can
be either full or partial subject lines.
Excessive use of blacklists can cause performance degradation and so should be used wisely. This is due to the system using IMAP searches to match messages. If you find this is the case, you should investigate the possibilities of server side filtering.
